Former Glbal BC anchor-reporter Dep Hope is no more. The Canadian Journalist passed away on 15 May 2023. She was 67 years old.
Deb was one of BC’s well-known faces. She read the news at noon. Alongside Tony Parsons, Hope co-hosted BCTY’s popular flagship broadcast the television.
The Deborra Brown native retired in March 2014. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease on 8 October 2020 and had mild symptoms. The illness led her to live in a nursing home in Vancouver until her death.
It was reported that the late journalist didn’t recognize her spouse, children, or other family members.

Who Is Deb Hope Husband Roger Hope?
Deb Hope was married to Roger Hope, a BCTV/Global BC news cameraman. The couple met through their work circle a few decades ago.
It is unclear exactly when the Hope couple tied the knot. However, the Hope couple has been together for at least a few decades. The journalist and her spouse welcomed two children during their marital life.
Deb was one of those women who had a booming professional career and joyful personal life.
Moreover, in an interview, Roger Hope revealed how he first saw Deb Hope. Roger walked into a store and saw Deb on the magazine cover page beside the cash register.
Roger bought four TV Guides, thinking, each for him, Deb, his mother, and her mother. Mr. Hope was unaware that Deb had been featured there. The incident occurred shortly after the late anchor began her job on the Noon News. The late anchor was featured on the cover of TV Guide for the first time.
The girl at the cash register watched Roger, threw four magazines and said, “So, do you watch a lot of TV or what?” The cameraman was embarrassed and answered, “No, she is my wife.” Then the girl said, “Yeah, you wish!”

As mentioned above, Deb Hope welcomed two kids with her husband, Roger Hope. She was also a mom to her stepdaughter, Leah.
The Hope couple’s daughters – Katherine and Roxanne- have grown up and lead their lives independently. In addition to being a mother, the anchor was also a grandmother. Her granddaughter, Veronica, was born in the late 2010s.
Sadly, the reporter could not recognize her husband, daughters, stepdaughter and relatives by her death. Regardless, she was close to her family and cared for them.
Deb Hope Family: Hails From Trail, British Columbia
Deb Hope was born on 11 October 1955 in Trail, British Columbia.
The former journalist was a graduate of the University of British Columbia. She began her journalism career during college, reporting for the school’s newspaper, The Ubyssey, and reading news on the campus radio station (CITR).
After graduating, Deb started working as a junior reporter for The Canadian Press immediately. Soon after, she returned to British Columbia and started working for the now-defunct United Press Canada for three years before switching to BCTV.
A Mining BC executive said Deb’s tireless work for charities would be remembered forever.
Deb worked with the Courage To Come Back organization and the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation, in addition to serving as the face of Variety Club for BCTV for more than 20 years.
Deb Hope was full of joy, fun, generosity, and love.
