Ben Bryant grew up in La Grange, Illinois, and graduated from Lyons Township High School. Bryant, a three-star prospect, has committed to play college football at Wisconsin. As a result, the quarterback signed a letter of intent to attend the Cincinnati Bearcats. Bryant continued his football career with the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2018 to 2020. Ben Bryant had a solid performance in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday night, passing for 222 yards. His most notable moment came in the fourth quarter, when he found Bryce Kirtz in the end zone’s corner, propelling Northwestern to a 14-7 victory over Utah. Bryant completed 22 of 34 passes and scored two touchdowns, helping Northwestern (8-5) finish the season on a high note with a four-game win streak. Coach David Braun acknowledged Bryant’s contributions, saying,
“Ben exemplifies what it means to be a transfer at Northwestern.” It’s about finding the right person. Not the proper athlete, but the right person.”
Following his January appointment as defensive coordinator, David Braun was promoted to head coach in July, succeeding Pat Fitzgerald, who resigned amid a hazing scandal investigation. Braun’s leadership changed a team that had previously struggled with a 1-11 record in 2022, leading the Wildcats to an 8-5 season and a bowl victory in his first year in charge.
